this is my first experience with behind the ear warmers. the fleece is nice and soft, and it keeps my ears warm without getting them too hot or sweaty. it has inner plastic parts which allow it to fold and adjust to various head sizes...which is what allows it to squeeze onto the head. it's not as compact as I'd like when folded and the plastic doesn't give as tight of a fit as I'd like, yet it's still scrunches down to a fairly small size...and most importantly: it keeps my ears warm!

Love these = however, one broke the first time I wore it.. the innards are plastic and now it won't stay on. Hope the others last better...second one seems to be holding up.

Overall, works very well, but I'm not sure how it would hold up on those really bone-chilling cold days (with freezing wind).
Overall, I've had these for about 2 weeks now in 20 to 40-something F weather with mild to strong winds. My ears are nice and snuggly warm.
My only complaint is that there is no padding between the outer and inner fleece layers. If there was, then this would be a perfect buy. Of course, I say this because I'm not sure how well these would hold up if I used them in below 0 F weather with high wind chill.
The headband expands pretty far. I have a smaller head, so I didn't even need to expand it more than 1-2 clicks. These should fit those with larger heads.
Bottom Line: Buy it. In fact, you should probably order several to give away to family and friends.
UPDATE 12/21/2008: It holds up pretty well and keeps my ears very warm even in negative fahrenheit temperatures. I'm finding that it slips off my ears if I look up or side-to-side while wearing a collared winter coat. That's a bit of an annoyance and does require me to readjust it on my head.
