I needed a unisex big-brim hat to keep deerflies and sun off my head/face and this hat is perfect. The mesh fabric in the crown allows you to collapse the hat for out-of-season storage, and the twill brim and top repel rain showers (although I haven't tested it in a deluge yet). The brim is fairly rigid but you can flip up the back a la Indiana Jones. You really need the leather chin strap if it's at all windy because the big brim can really catch a breeze!
